What we do.

Park House is one of Newbury’s 11-18 Secondary Schools, with a roll of 1150. It
serves the town and surrounding villages, working with over 30 primary school
partners.

We are rated as Good by Ofsted in all respects and have been identified by the Minister of State for Education as one of the country’s top 100 State schools for continuous improvement in good GCSE results.

Our students’ performance at A Level is also well above the local and national average. We additionally – and uniquely- host two post-16 Football and Rugby Academies enabling students to combine their sporting development with academic study in the local area.

In terms of strategic reach, we are also:

  • One of 30 National Computer Education Hubs appointed to lead teacher
development and teaching and learning across the region
  • The Hub for the West Berkshire Schools Sports Partnership coordinating teacher development and reaching and learning in Physical Education and activity across 60 primary schools.

What we love about Newbury West Berkshire.

Having lived and worked in the area for most of my life I am passionate about
maximising the opportunities to continue to grow and develop the area’s
potential for future generations.

As an educational leader in the area for the last 17 years my contribution to the
wider local community was recognised in my shortlisting as Times Educational
Supplement Headteacher of the Year and I was awarded the inaugural Sir John
Madejski Award for Outstanding Contribution to Education and Sport across the region.

Why we're involved in the Newbury West Berkshire Project.

To maximise the potential to promote and develop the opportunities for future
growth in the town and surrounding area for all who live and work here.

Newbury West Berkshire Stories...

We coordinated all educational activities for schools in relation to the London
2012 Torch Relay, building on our role as the Hub for the West Berkshire School
Sports Partnership.
